i learned today a little about gzip compression and the http protocol. i don’t know too much about them both, but i do know that all the pages i did the compression on loaded signifigantly faster. by following these ever-so-easy instructions, i made most of my php pages load with gzip compression. i need to learn how to write unix shell scripts. i have been downloading some legal, live concerts, but am getting very tired of typing in: shorten -x song.shn song.wav over and over and over. a simple shell script would let me convert all songs using regular expresions. anyone know how to do this? please let me [ READ MORE ]
