itunes store

i just bought my first songs from itunes. it was really easy (too easy, i am going to go broke), but i still think it is too expensive. they sell full albums for download for $10. i can go to the store and buy a physical album for the same price. and (here is the big one) AAC is a lossy format.

I look at it like this: There are a lot of albums that have only one or two songs I like. For those occasions It’s cheaper to pay $2 than to pay $10 for a CD with extra songs you don’t like.

Isn’t MP3 is a lossy format too. Windows Media also. They all compress audio my cutting out frequencies that the algorithm determines are least important to the overall quality. AAC is just a trade name for the audio rules of the MP4 open standard.

matt, i do agree with you about only having to spend $2 or so on the songs that you actually want, that is a plus. i can’t remember all the songs that i got this weekend, but i did get a counting crows song, 100 years by five for fighting, this love by maroon 5, a no doubt song. these were mostly for rachel but the counting crows song was for me…
