eula question

i am looking at getting the new office 2004 for mac and saw on the list of features that they give ‘Rights to install on three computers in your household’ with the purchase of the student version. has this always been the case? and why just on the student version? the regular version isn’t this way.

The documentation that came with my Adobe Photoshop student version says it can’t legaly be used in the creation of for profit work. I don’t know if that’s the case with Microsoft products. If it is, then technically you couldn’t use it for your job.
