The Saga Continues
On our way home from my cousin’s son’s baby blessing we received a note on our front door informing us that our gas was going to be shut off on November 3rd because our landlord had not been paying the bill. The letter said we could pay the bill for our landlord and then our gas would not be shut off.
Just this morning I was thinking how if we never got the heat working in our apartment we could at least turn on the oven and open the door. Now I don’t think we could even do that. I don’t really want to move, especially to a place where we would have to sign a one year lease, but I am not sure if I could take cold showers.
One other thing to those that said they were going to demolish our building because they knew someone who knew someone who had a sister working on the plans for a new place. The buildings that they leveled to the ground weren’t ours, but they were across the street (and it made the air really dusty).
You should check with City Hall. I don’t think the gas company can actually turn off your gas. I think that’s against the law, at least in some circumstances. It may be an empty threat, or you may have some rights to protect yourself.
the newest “word on the street” is that our heat does work and the gas bill has been paid. we will see if that is actually the truth soon enough.
Dagnabit! I was hoping to have you guys come live with us.
It’s always warm in California.
