Another fun weekend has concluded after a lot of fun. Saturday night (after a day of studying), Rachel and I went to Nebraska Furniture Mart (she says I can’t tell anyone…that’s why I am only putting it here…no one will read it). At NFM I picked up the newly released Bright Eyes CD, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning. Great CD.
Rachel then decided that Fiorella’s Jack Stack sounds like a good place for dinner. She was quite correct. We shared a meat spread well suited for any barbeque aficionado. I am so proud of her for eating more meat.
After another baby blessing for my cousin’s baby, Gabe, Rachel and I went to Target, where I picked up the other new Bright Eyes CD, Digital Ash, Digital Urn. I have only listened to this one a couple of times and haven’t latched onto it as much as Wide Awake, but I am sure I will. Now a qustion for all Bright Eyes fans: I first heard of Bright Eyes in September 2003 when Connor contributed a track to Lost Highway: Lost and Found 1 (Lost Highway is my favorite record label – Nonesuch is my second favorite – for anyone that cares). Back to the question: Bright Eyes is on the Saddle Creek label, so are Saddle Creek and Lost Highway related?
The weekend ended as all great weekends do: with a wonderful episode of Arrested Development.
Finally, I spent some time this weekend working on a new blog front end using Smarty and Textile. And when those links look normal you will know everything is working.
just one Bright Eyes huh. You know he released two.
also, I believe G2 is your dad, and I think he came by my livejournal. He’s pretty adament about you getting a spellcheck for these comments. (he wasn’t learned well enough in school.)
So is Nebraska Furniture Mart as gross as everyone says it is?
Looks like someone else “wasn’t learned well enough in school.” Either me or Luke. I (think I) clearly said I bought both Bright Eyes recent releases this weekend.
