I was reading through some graduation information this evening and it said that I had to try on my graduation regalia before April 20th. That just happens to be today, and since I never do anything on time, I figured I should try the stuff on tonight. Let me tell you, I spent the last two years studying upper division computer science, math and engineering, but I could not for the life of me figure out exactly how to put the gown and other part on. First of all, the piece above. Where does it go? I assume around my neck somehow, but it’s this really weird shape and just doesn’t really lie well anywhere. And then the image below. Are the arms supposed to extend a good 10′ below my fingertips. There are these strange hand holes, but my arms barely fit through them.

I guess if it doesn’t fit right you won’t have any trouble picking me out from the other graduates.
It has been so long since I climbed into one of those graduate gowns that I don’t even remember if the tails are supposed to go in front or in back. G2 could probably advise you, but you know how often he visits this blog!
you should totally not wear anything under the robe during commencement.
I wasn’t planning on it.
Things were so much easier back at Hogwarts, weren’t they?
