Flip4Mac’s Windows Media Components for QuickTime

I saw today that Windows Media Components for QuickTime by Flip4Mac is now being released for free by Microsoft. I have only tried it out a little, but it works as advertised. I would recommend that anyone with a Mac download and install this program. It works better than Windows Media Player to play browser embedded videos. First thing I did after getting this installed was head over to Whoomp and watch all the WMV videos I have been missing out on.

    Ugh, I don’t like adding another Microsoft product to my Mac, but I’ve missed a lot of .wmv files too, so I guess I will do this.

  2. This isn’t really a MS product. It was made by a third party and allows your to play .wmv in Quicktime player…. so not too much MS going on here.
