I upgraded my site this morning to the SVN version of WordPress. It took just a few minutes. Here’s all I had to do. For this example I will upgrade my Dad’s site: gunner@cardero$ mv brad brad-bak gunner@cardero$ svn co http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/trunk/ brad A brad/wp-pass.php ... Checked out revision 3636. gunner@cardero$ cp -R brad-bak/files/ brad/files/ gunner@cardero$ cp brad-bak/wp-config.php brad/ Then head [ READ MORE ]
Is trackback spam the new comment spam? Rachel has been getting hundreds of trackback spams today (so many in fact that she hasn’t been able to get her homework done today because she has spent so much time deleting them) in her WordPress blog. To solve the problem, we first turned off trackback pings through the [ READ MORE ]
I started a swap-bot dev blog tonight. As development gets into the fun stages of releasing new features, I needed an easy way to make announcements. Grab the RSS feed and watch the updates roll in. On a related note, I went to download Wordpress and saw they now have SVN access. This is going to [ READ MORE ]
We had our last game of the city league basketball season and we won another close one. We ended the year on a two-game winning streak, winning three of our last four. Last night’s game wasn’t too pretty. At times we were down by 15 points and we couldn’t seem to get many of our shots [ READ MORE ]

So I have had a MySpace account for a little while, but haven’t done anything with it. Rachel recently started her account and got a few friends so I decided to pick it back up. I set up my URL and even uploaded a picture (for some reason it is sideways). I realize that guys [ READ MORE ]
I got some time to play around with the Zend Framework today and I am not exactly crazy about it yet. I think that once some of the bugs get worked out it is going to be great. That said, I have decided not to use it right now. I tried ZendServiceFlickr out and it was [ READ MORE ]
I saw today that Zend has released its Framework for download. I guess I don’t really know where to start playing with it. I am most excited for ZendXmlRpc, ZendPdf, ZendJson, ZendInputFilter and maybe ZendFeed. I also am curious how ZendController and Zend_View work. I have played with MVC’s before and ended up not really [ READ MORE ]
I recently wrote about YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest from Yahoo and how I used their code for some Ajax. My one problem with my solution was that my callback object was “outside” of all my other code. Today, I came up with such a simple solution. Just delete the callback object and in place of where the connection [ READ MORE ]
Saw Walk the Line tonight. I loved it, but I have become a pretty big Johnny Cash fan over the last 4 or 5 years, so I guess me liking the movie was a given. The music was good, but Joaquin Phoenix is quite obviously not as good as the Man in Black himself. Since [ READ MORE ]
