Pat tagged me for a 5 things about me that you probably don’t know meme and after putting it off for a few weeks, I am finally getting around to fulfilling my obligation. Here goes.

  1. My first blog post – 4 years ago – was about the KU Jayhawks in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. They, of course, lost in a very early round. I, of course, have lost the post in my perpetual transition in blogging software from Moveable Type, to my own blog code, to WordPress, to Typo back to WordPress.

  2. My favorite sport to watch is baseball. My team in the NL is the LA Dodgers and my team in the AL is the KC Royals. The way I pick “my teams” is based on the city I last lived in that had a team in either division. I started out my life a Dodger/Angel fan then moved to Texas and had to drop the Angels for the Rangers. I was a die-hard Ranger fan. I can even remember thinking how cool it was that our President’s son owned the team! In high school we moved to Kansas City and I quickly dropped the Rangers in favor of the Royals. I honestly believe that my buddies and me were responsible for starting the left field bleacher craze of ’97 for Bip Roberts. I can remember it took a few games and lots of “Bip” chants (Bip, Bip, Bip, Bip, …), but he finally waved to us! Now it looks like I might have to change one of my teams in the near future. Portland is trying hard to get the Marlins. Hopefully, though, if the analysts are right, the Marlins would switch to the AL, which would allow Texas to move to the AL Central and Detroit to the AL East, and the Devil Rays would switch to the NL, thus creating some solid league rivalries (Seattle-Portland and Atlanta-Tampa Bay) and better aligning the AL. And even better, I wouldn’t have to change my team in the NL! And for anyone keeping track of my Single A team, it’s the Eugene Emeralds.

  3. I have a level 27 Tauren Shaman in World of Warcraft. I played for a while when the game first game out and have now started playing again in the last month.

  4. I am trying to get into running. I’ve got all the gear and a iPod nano with nike+. Propose a challenge to me and you’ll probably win.

  5. I got a new camera today. I don’t take a lot of pictures, but I am going to try. Here’s the first with my new camera.
