New happenings at Swap-bot
Rachel and I put some work into Swap-bot today. Check out her full coverage on the revamped Swap-bot blog.
I had a pretty fun time working on the part of the homepage that grabs images tagged with ’swapbot’ from Flickr and puts them on the main page. In order to not hinder performance too much, I look for new images every 30 minutes and then select 12 random photos out of the 100 most recent. I am so impressed with how nice everyone’s photos are.
We’ll be waiting to hear that Google or Yahoo offered you two hundred forty million dollars (to cover your development costs) to buy Swap-bot from you. Seriously, it’s getting better all the time!
