cooking up the offense like he's cooking ravioli

I created my first and second real Wordpress themes this weekend. I started yesterday making one for Rachel and since it was pretty easy I decided to make a similar one for myself.

Rachel decided she wanted a three column layout, so I figured I would tryout YUI Grids for this project. Using the Grids CSS made laying out the site pretty easy. I ran into a little trouble wanting to have the middle column appear first in the DOM, but a little CSS inline hacking fixed the issue pretty easily.

After success with Rachel’s site I decided to create a new theme for my site. I, too, now have a three column layout which gives me some space in the last column for some DMX ads and various widgets. My theme was built for Wordpress Widgets which allows for easy customization. I’m going to add a little more to the theme, then I’ll make it available for download in case anyone wants to try it out.
