the cars on the list are the top cars of that make and model. for example, most mustangs that you see on the road only have 193 hp. however, all ford rangers have at least 143 hp and those 143 sure make the truck fly (and by fly i mean ‘0-60: yes’)

i pulled up to the line the other day against a dodge viper and (although rachel claims he wasn’t trying) i was the first to reach the speed limit of 45 mph. my take on the situation was that he knew he could not handle the power of a much less expensive car and did not want to appear as if he was trying….although it was obvious he was.

when rachel looked at the horsepower listings, she was upset because our car was near the bottom. so i wanted to clear a few things up. first of all, the wrx is by far the best car on the list so far (besides the wrx sti) because of its superior handeling and all wheel drive. we haven’t taken our car off-road yet, but if we were to it would easily beat any of the other cars (with a possible exception to the mitsubishi lancer evolution) in a race. so there you have it, rachel and everyone else, the wrx may not have the most horsepower, but it by far the best car on the list.

i have been very busy with school lately, but i found a little time tonight to work on a new page. i created a new page that tracks the horsepower and price of various cars. i have added some and you are welcome to add more. please be sure to add the link to the page you found all information on.

i just came across a site called wikipedia which is bascially an encyclopedia maintained and created by the users that read it. if you think that something is wrong, you have the ability to change it. it is very interesting, check it out.

my internet connection to my apartment went down for a little while this morning, which caused a temporary disruption in service to the much-loved travisj.org and its sub-site: wedding photos. but don’t worry, all is well and the sites are back up and running (obviously, since you are now reading about it).

i installed php with command line interface (cli) support. cli allows me to run php scripts from, you guessed it, the command line. possibilities with cli include socket servers (such as pop3 or ftp even) or cron tasks. boring to all, but me i guess, but i will keep you all posted on my progress…

rachel and i went to st. louis and had a very fun time. we went to the art museum and plaza frontenac. we also ate at red lobster and ihop. it was a fun weekend.

and they lost, but i caught a foul ball. it was pretty cool and somehow i ended up diving for the ball in the aisle. first foul ball i ever caught.
